The Gas Gas Acewell is a great unit with easy to see display and heaps of features. We did have in the early days a couple of Speedo failures due to the wires coming out the back of the unit fraying and touching each other. This is caused by the elements and pushing the headlamp in against the wires. It is easy to prevent.

Gather the wire from the back of the unit and tape them together. Then get something solid and straight. Below we have used a hard strip of plastic and taped it to wires.

 Then you need to tape off both ends to make the whole unit solid. This keeps all the spedo wires solid and safe.

If you have a 06/7 2 stroke you would have noticed how the clock built into the unit resets its self each time the engine is turned off. If you would like the clock on your 2 stroke to be continually on all you need to do is connect power to the brown wire coming out of the back of the Speedo head with a square 9 volt battery and earth to frame (or white wire). You can get the battery connectors at J-Car or from a broken .50cent kids toy at the local street market. The battery will last about a year.
