Gas Gas stand fix Print E-mail

Gas Gas have a auto flick up stand which is required for Australian ADR. These are a pain, I think they are more dangerous because it makes the bike fall over easier. Luckily the fix is easy and cheap.

Get yourself a 520 or larger chain off cut, you just need one of the outer plates. Drill out one of the holes to 8mm. Most chain are hardened steel so will find it easier to slowly go up in drill bit sizes until you finish at 8mm. Get your self a 8mm / 1.25 pitch bolt at least 25mm long that has a 10mm head and two 8mm flat washers. We have them. You can use the original bolt (12mm head) but the 10mm head types are easier to bolt up.

You then bolt the modified link to the top side stand bracket mount point and pivot the stand springs from the link. You will need a good spring/s puller to mount the springs, you only need the main spring although pictured is using both.
