Gas Gas EC 200 Hobby Introduced in 2007 the Gas Gas EC 200 Hobby shares allot of components with its race breed brother The EC 200. In fact the engine is near identical except for muffler and reed block. The major difference is in the suspension. The Gas techs wanted to create a bike suited to the trail rider more than the racer. To do this they fitted a Mazochie 45 mm fork with less travel and a Sachs shock to suit, this lowers the seat height to 910mm. The result is a great little bike suited to most people and extremely suited to those less experienced or height challenged. The lower seat height enables the less experienced rider to feel more in control and grow in confidence. The bike power delivery is softer off the bottom building into a very usable strong but controllable mid range, the top end is almost as good the EC 200 with a slip of the clutch they scream up top. This type of power means the rider will not out grow the bike to quickly. The suspension isn't adjustable like the EC 200 and the brake master cylinders and caliper are J.A.P brand. These change has enabled Gas Gas to keep the bike to an incredibly low price $ 7990.00. Taking this low retail price and the low running cost in account this bike is worth serious consideration.
